Poll Sitters Wanted!

Posted in Town Clerk on September 12th, 2008

I am looking for volunteers for poll sitters for the elections. We continually have a problem finding volunteers for this. We would prefer to have people sit for four hour intervals, but we’re flexible. Please contact the Alford Town Offices and let us know if you are interested.

Thank you,

Paula Doyle

Report of the Cemetery Commission

Posted in Cemetery Commission on September 12th, 2008

July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008

Greetings to all, As new members of the cemetery commission, both Judy Durlack and Tim Drumm have been researching the cemeteries of Alford. We have numerous documentation of the Center Cemetery, Osbourne and John’s Cemetery. From this research it has been determined that open cemetery plots are limited and in the case of John’s Cemetery, East Road there is no more space available. This has prompted us to ask if there would be anyone within the Town of Alford who would make available a parcel of land for a cemetery of which the Town of Alford would maintain for its town residents. All responses will be considered. Please contact Judy Durlack at 413-528-0658 or Tim Drumm at 413-528-1833. Additionally, any correspondence may be emailed to the Alford Town Offices.

Respectfully submitted,
Judy Durlack
Tim Drumm
