Some local towns may be excluded from getting high speed internet access...

As some of you know, Governor Deval Patrick and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts have finally set aside $40 million to provide high speed internet access to every community in the state. Every rural resident in Berkshire County is entitled to the economic, educational, and quality of life benefits that high-speed broadband internet access provides. It has come to my attention that some of the “powers that be” wish to take control of this money, and possibly prevent some of the rural towns in Southern Berkshire County from having access to their fair share of the state broadband funds that have been appropriated! This is an OUTRAGE, and all of you who desire high speed internet access in your rural area need to raise your voices! Without your help, we all may be left in the dark ages of dial-up access!

The Southern Berkshire Technology Committee represents the broadband interests of ten towns in the Southern Berkshires, and has been endorsed by the Select Boards of ten towns. This committee is dedicated to representing YOUR RIGHTS to equal high speed internet opportunities. Just as the west coast and metro areas throughout the United States have gained superior benefits for their economic growth from high speed internet access, we also have the right to ensure our local economic growth on an equal technological playing field. Please join the effort, help us by contacting our state representatives NOW!
