In recent years, Dell has had numerous kinds of complaints filed against them...

Following are a few of the commonly-known Dell complaints and lawsuits, and many more are expected....

  • Antitrust, violating Advertising, Deceptive Selling, and Financing behavior, as well as consumer fraud, parts swapping, and unlawful combinations and tie ins.
  • The huge monetary transfers (around $22 Billion) to Mike Dell’s Foundation, and various offshore facilities hiding liability for taxes.
  • A nascent relationship between Dell and Chevron, Dell and Rockefeller Institute and the allegation that such may be a cutout between Dell and IBM, hiding a hidden, nefarious relationship between Dell and IBM.
  • Anti competition including use of stealth representative companies to invade competing vendors business markets, hiring threatening personnel kept directly or indirectly through the activities of Impact Venture Capital, an alleged front company in NYC for Mike Dell, run by his brothers Adam and Frank Dell, and other activities.
  • One person involved with Adam and Frank, Joe Firmage, financially arranged for criminal harassment of one computer company figure to such a degree that the individual has filed serious charges against Dell.
  • Hidden illegal influence peddling by Chevron, Rockefeller and IBM, to secure huge government contracts for Dell with various government agencies.

On top of these findings, most people that have dealt with Dell have found nothing but endless faults with Dell support. For example, subscribers to a next-day repair service sometimes wait as long as a year for support. And of course, every time anyone calls Dell for support, this includes computer consultants like myself, hundreds of hours are wasted trying to understand the Indian "customer support" staff (thanks to NAFTA, the core cause of America's tech jobs being lost overseas to under-bidders). And not understanding these Indians speaking broken English is the easy part. On one call, I've been transferred or put on hold as many as a dozen times, blowing away two hours of unpaid work time to try and solve a customer's issue.
 
Overall, Dell manufactures cheap, below-standard computers by the millions to people and groups that cannot afford large computer budgets. This includes everyone from your average low-end blue collar worker, to schools, colleges and state and town government offices. The parts from the dead or partially dead Dells end up being reused and recycled in other Dell systems, often re-released as "refurbished" units, which supposedly save you a few bucks. Any of Dell's parts that aren't properly recycled end up buried in landfills across the globe.

When you think about it, Dell is probably one of the largest wasters of natural resources on the planet. Think of all of the materials that are extracted from the earth and recreated by man to supply parts for all of these sub-standard poorly designed Dell machines, at least 25% of these machines end up in landfills in less than five years, which is less than the maximum life expectancy of high quality and custom-built computers. So, saving a buck or two on a Dell, is that worth wasting your money and time on such a worthless company that is destroying the planet, ripping off consumers, supporting NAFTA, AND breaking laws almost every day? I think not!
