In recent years, Dell has had numerous kinds of complaints filed against them... Following are a few of the commonly-known Dell complaints and lawsuits, and many more are expected....
On top of these findings, most people that have dealt with Dell have found nothing but endless faults with Dell support. For example, subscribers to a next-day repair service sometimes wait as long as a year for support. And of course, every time anyone calls Dell for support, this includes computer consultants like myself, hundreds of hours are wasted trying to understand the Indian "customer support" staff (thanks to NAFTA, the core cause of America's tech jobs being lost overseas to under-bidders). And not understanding these Indians speaking broken English is the easy part. On one call, I've been transferred or put on hold as many as a dozen times, blowing away two hours of unpaid work time to try and solve a customer's issue. When you think about it, Dell is probably one of the largest wasters of natural resources on the planet. Think of all of the materials that are extracted from the earth and recreated by man to supply parts for all of these sub-standard poorly designed Dell machines, at least 25% of these machines end up in landfills in less than five years, which is less than the maximum life expectancy of high quality and custom-built computers. So, saving a buck or two on a Dell, is that worth wasting your money and time on such a worthless company that is destroying the planet, ripping off consumers, supporting NAFTA, AND breaking laws almost every day? I think not!
